At £650 the Cyclamatic GTE Step Through is a great entry point electric bike for commuters, particularly female commuters. With its step through bar arrangement, pre-installed pannier over the rear wheel, mud guards, chain guard, front suspension and electric lights the Cyclamatic GTE has many advantages. It’s built for steady cycling on smooth paths or roads but will handle hills too. The silver colour of the bike and all accessories make the bike look of good build quality.
Having read the user reviews on Amazon it would appear that one issue with the bike is the assembly work required on delivery of the bike, which although stated to take 5 mins has taken a lot of owners including a mechanic 2 hours+ due to complicated and poor instructions and a lot of work involved. Finding replacement parts also seems to be an issue. These two problems are standard with bikes designed and ‘built’ in China and shipped to the UK. It’s why the bike only costs £650, as bikes hand built in the UK rightly have a higher price tag as you receive a complete pre-assembled bike. Anyway if assembly isn’t an issue for you then this could be a good choice commuter electric bike for you.
